Rockfall Embankment

Rockfall Embankment protections are used to stop rockfall and debris from falling onto roads, railways or where there is possible loss of property or life. Maccaferri rockfall embankments are made of pre-assembled products like Green Terramesh®, Terramesh®, gabions or a combination of them.

• They are used for very high energy absorption impact up to 5000KJ.
• The wire mesh that composes the reinforcement has been evaluated for 75 years durability by HITEC with the collaboration of AASHTO and FHWA.
• The continuous mesh that forms the facing element and the reinforcement section allows for a perfect integration by minimizing the possibility of failure of the facing.
• The maintenance of the system is minimum compared to other types of high energy barriers.
• The cost of repair over an impact is a fraction of the cost of the ring net barrier.
