Rock Mesh

Rock Mesh rockfall netting can be use for both application: passive and active system.

Passive systems prevent rocks and other debris from falling on the road and include:

  • Rock Mesh B900 is a woven composite product made of steel wire and metallic ropes woven together during the production of the hexagonal double twisted wire mesh. The Rock Mesh B900 is generally used for rocks up to 3 ft (1,000 mm).
  • Rock Mesh M2000 and M4000  have steel ropes inserted longitudinally during the fabrication of the mesh. The Rock Mesh M2000 has three steel cables inserted, two on the edges to increase and one in the center. The two edges of the steel rope allow for a stronger connection with the adjacent units. The Rock Mesh M4000 has 2 steel ropes inserted at the edges during the manufacturing.

Active systems anchor the rock embankment to prevent rocks from falling and include:

  • Rock Mesh B600 are secured to the rock face to form an active protection by maintaining the rock or debris in place. The steel ropes are incorporated transversally and longitudinally within the wire mesh during manufacturing.
